Home learning - Wiki 1 - Wednesday till Friday

 Mōrena, kei te pēhea koe?

How is life going at home? I hope you are all enjoying some quality time together, relaxing, enjoying the sunshine and trying to see the positives. One positive thing I am enjoying is bird watching from outside my windows. Spring is just round the corner.

I am loving your emails and questions, I love hearing from you all.

I have assigned you new tasks on Mathletics and Education Perfect. Please access Education Perfect here: Click. You can use your school email to create an account and see the Maths, English and Te Reo activities I have set you. This will then ask you to create a password. I am available to help you to set this up if it is not working.

Here are some more activities for your home learning.

Missing seeing your smiling faces! I wonder how our broad bean plants are doing? I hope they will be okay!

Some of our learning so far..

You have been busy doing some wonderful work at home Room 8! Take a look at what Jayden and Bella have been up to. Jayden wrote some ideas on why break times should be longer at school. Do you agree? Jayden has also been busy making bonfires with his family. How great!
Bella has been busy making a Google Site with information on how to look after lots of different types of pets. Do you have a pet at your house? How do you look after yours?
Take care, I will be posting some new activities for your learning tomorrow. Sarah

Online Learning

 Kia ora!

I hope you are taking care in your bubbles.

Here are a few ideas for your learning for the next two days. Do as much or as little as you like. Activities such as writing shopping lists, cooking dinner and helping with gardening are so beneficial and a lovely way to connect!

I have tried to make it so most of these activities can be done 'offline' - simply read the instructions and then continue offline.

Online options include using Mathletics for Maths, Banqer and Education Perfect for Te Reo and English. If you need help logging into Education Perfect please let me know - very happy to help you with this.

If lockdown is longer there will be more activities and ideas posted here.

Ngā mihi,

Sarah

3 day lockdown

 Kia ora tamariki and whānau,

I hope you are well and keeping yourselves safe. As you may have seen - these three days are a chance to relax and play at home. If we here of any more news and lockdown is extended, all of your online learning activities will be found on this blog.

As per our last post, now is a good a time as any to make sure we are being kind to one another.

Explore the links on the side bar - use Mathletics, Banqer, Epic! if you are looking for a few activities to do. I challenge you to also comment on someone elses blog - can you leave a comment that is thoughtful, kind or funny?

Some children recently used a platform called Education Perfect. They are welcome to login and use this programme. If our time at home is extended I will send login information to each students to ensure they can access.

Fingers crossed I will be seeing your smiling faces on Monday.

Until then, aroha from me and my very happy (because I'm at home!) puppy Iggy.

Kia atawhai - Be kind

Our class have enjoyed learning about the Kotahitanga movement, learning about togetherness and kindness. We were very proud of our "Be kind" poems.

Can you think of your own lines to add to these? The world can always do with a little more kindness.

What is a random act of kindness you could do for somebody today? Let us know in the comments.
